Joachim Pawlik trained as a shipping agent with Gebrüder Hellmann in Hamburg before going on to study for a degree in Business Administration.

Professional career
While still a student, Pawlik also enjoyed a career as a professional soccer player with F.C. St. Pauli, for whom he played for one year. During the third year of his studies, he founded a financial services company with a partner, where he gained broad experience as director of sales and marketing. In 1996, he founded the consulting firm PAWLIK Consultants GmbH, focusing on the fields of strategy and personnel and, more specifically, on enhancing sales structures and developing salespeople. Then and now, his consulting approach is based on scientific research. Headquartered in Hamburg, the firm is today also represented in seven branch offices worldwide and employs a staff of 150. It’s core services are in the fields of personnel development, organizational development and recruitment consulting.

In addition to his role of Chairman of the Board at PAWLIK Consultants GmbH, Joachim Pawlik is a member of various supervisory and advisory boards. In November 2014, he assumed the vice presidency at F.C. St. Pauli, where he is responsible for Marketing, Sponsoring and Sport. As the owner of PAWLIK Consultants, he is actively involved in all three of the company’s business fields, and is also much in demand on the lecture circuit as a speaker on sales- and management-related topics.
